Can you delegate a meeting in outlook

Note: By default, the delegate is granted Editor can read, create, and modify items permission to your Calendar folder. When the delegate responds to a meeting on your behalf, it is automatically added to your Calendar folder. To send a message to notify the delegate of the changed permissions, select the Automatically send a message to delegate summarizing these permissions check box.

Important: This setting affects all Exchange folders. There is no way to grant access to private items in only specified folders. Messages sent with Send on Behalf permissions include both the delegate's and your names next to From. When a message is sent with Send As permissions, only the your name appears. Once you add someone as a delegate, they can add your Exchange mailbox to their Outlook profile. For instructions, see Manage another person's mail and calendar items.

Click the name of the delegate for whom you want to change permissions, and then click Permissions. Note: If you want copies of meeting requests and responses that you receive to be sent to a delegate, ensure that the delegate is assigned Editor can read, create, and modify items permission to your Calendar folder, and then select the Delegate receives copies of meeting-related messages sent to me check box.

If you have assigned permissions to a delegate so that he or she can access your Outlook folders, you can hide personal information in appointments, meetings, tasks, and contacts. Open each personal item, and in the Tags group, click Private. Click the name of the delegate for whom you want to change access to your private appointments, and then click Permissions.

Share an Outlook calendar with other people. Open another person's Exchange Calendar. Add an email account to Outlook. Share calendar. Allow someone else to manage your mail and calendar. Notes: Messages sent with Send on Behalf permissions include both the delegate's and your names next to From.

You left out the most important part - how do you select the new organizer? Yes it changed, but you have not specified how to decide who the new organizer is, unless all you care about is that it's not the original one.

Giving someone access to your calendar is an additional layer of complexity that's not necessary. If Outlook could add the functionality to simply swap out the organiser it would be a quick and user friendly fix The only sane workaround is for the organiser to delegate calendar authority.

A feature to allow redesignating the organiser would allow all sorts of mischief in important meetings, which is probably why it has not been added. We all saw what happened with Zoom meetings, which is why many organisations now use Microsoft Teams. Molly can configure all of these scenarios.

She simply right-clicks her calendar and selects permissions…. From here Molly can see that Alex has delegate permissions and Sara can see full details. Molly can also configure how her meeting requests are to be handled. Her delegates will always get a copy of the meeting request and will be allowed to respond on her behalf.

The question is, what does she want to see in her own inbox? Does she want to be able to respond to meeting requests for herself? Send me notifications. Molly can also configure delegate access to her calendar from her tablet device. As you can see, delegate access configuration is a powerful feature.
