Just jump in the water, theres a place on the nort-eastern bank where you can get out and you can get at them from behind. Pulled three of them, one at a time, and got close enough to the wagon to explode it without the others noticing.

Died only once. Would say quite easy. Comment by Umiamz Can confirm that the easiest way to do this is to jump in the water and approach the explosives from the east. I was able to pick them off with no more than two attacking at a time. Unfortunately, the explosives got destroyed by one of the bombadiers during the fight but they respawned shortly afterwards.
